Magdalena Artist Proof Statue Counter Sample to be Auctioned on Ebay Starting January 7

The CS Moore Studio is excited to hold an eBay auction starting on January 7 for a rare "Counter Sample" of the SOLD OUT Magdalena Artist Proof Statue. Four "Counter Samples" exist of this exceptional masterpiece sculpted by Dene Mason, making this a very rare and unique offering!

WHAT IS A "COUNTER SAMPLE"? When a statue is created, a master mold is taken of the original sculpture. From that original, several castings are made from which the full, hand-painted, limited edition production run will be made by the factory. Our studio sends the factory a painted resin casting from the master mold, called a "Paint Master." Also sent are two unpainted resin castings, called "Production Masters." These "Production Masters" will be used to make the whole production run, but first the factory takes a "Production Master" and creates four prototypes. These prototypes are made by the Design and Development (D&D) management team at the factory, and they serve two purposes: 1) The D&D team works out a system for replicating our paint scheme for the production of the edition, and 2) The factory sends us the four "Counter Samples" to make sure they have matched our desired paint scheme. These painted prototypes are called "Counter Samples" because they are replicas (or counters) of the "Paint Master."

Signed by Clayburn Moore and hand marked "FCS" (Factory Counter Sample) on the base, the "Counter Sample" includes a CS Moore Studio Certificate of Authenticity signed by Clayburn Moore.
