An Open Letter from Clayburn Moore on the Status of the Aphrodite IX Artist Proof Statue
First, thank you for your support of the Aphrodite IX Artist Proof
Statue project, and for making the Kabuki and Brandy Statues sold out
projects. Kabuki and Brandy were produced for me by an excellent,
reliable factory that does very good work. It was my desire to work
with them on the Aphrodite IX project, but since they require a 500
unit minimum per unique sculpt, I enlisted the services of a new
factory to produce the statue at my desired edition size of 350 units.
Unfortunately this new factory has not been able to perform up to my
requirements. Rather than release a product that I felt was of poor
quality, I have decided to work with my first factory partner. In order
not to take a large financial hit by only releasing 350 units (while
being required to pay the same price as if I had made 500), I have
decided to produce 150 more for a total of 500 Aphrodite IX Artist
I have discussed this change with the fine folks at Top Cow
Entertainment, and we are going to release this piece with a new base,
a signed certificate of authenticity, and a new paint scheme. This will
make the statue more visibly different from the regular Aphrodite IX
Statue than the originally planned Artist Proof Statue would have been.
Obviously, this project is now going to be delayed, and is scheduled to
ship in early 2007. As we get a more certain release date we will
update the website with that information.
Given the terrific preorder response to the Aphrodite IX Artist Proof
Statue, we hope our collectors will see this as a positive change. If
anyone is unhappy with this decision and would like to cancel their
preorder, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will
refund your deposit promptly.
Thank you for your patience. We’ll make this piece worth the wait.
